My cousin got married over the weekend. I was excited for him, and he looked so perfect with his new wife. I didn't catch the bouquet, but one of my other cousins called me and my mother "a couple of hotties". You can bet I blushed, but not as much as my mother (being called a hottie by your nephew can have that effect).
Where we were staying during the weekend was a place called Barre (pronunced like "berry"), which was about ten minutes away from the state's capital, Montpelier. The biggest shock I received was that the capital city was no bigger than my hometown and the city I work in combined! It was a nice little place nevertheless, also lying home to the Ben and Jerry's factory.
I couldn't leave without a couple souvenirs. Two of them I received for free - one person requested something with the name of somewhere she had never heard of on it, so I gave her the menu from a restaurant in the town I stayed in, and the other requested a maple leaf, so I gave him one of the maple syrup samples I received - but the others I had to pay for. I bought a shirt with my favorite video game character of all time: Link!
On the way there and home, we travelled through Canada. We saw Niagara Falls (even though it was dark by the time we got there), and a little bit of the Soo Locks (also dark when we saw them). At one point we stopped at a truck stop with a small restaurant/souvenir shop at it. We ate dinner there and bought a couple snacks for the road. I bought a Puddle of Mudd tape while there; I gave her a $20 American bill; she gave me back a $10 Canadian bill and a Canadian dollar (along with some other change).
Needless to say, I had fun.
